Hospital Policies

Prescription Refills

To best serve our patients that are on long term medication, we ask that you call ahead of time when needing a refill. We fill our prescriptions daily between 9am and 10am as well as between 2pm and 3pm. A prescription request that comes in before 2pm can be ready after 3pm that same day, and any request that comes in after 3pm will be ready after 10am the next morning. To best accommodate requests, 24 hours notice is greatly appreciated.  Unfortunately we are unable to give returns on any prescription items.

How To Book Appointments

Appointments can be made by calling the hospital at (780) 458-6051 during working hours (Monday - Friday: 8am - 6pm and Saturdays: 9am - 4pm).

Walk-ins / Unscheduled Appointments

Appointments are preferred and we will always try to accommodate walk-ins. The Tudor Glen Veterinary Hospital cares about the health of every one of our clients' companion animals. Some days are busier than others, and on the hospital's busiest days we offer clients the option of a "drop-off" which means that your pet would be seen after the regularly scheduled appointments. If it is more convenient for you, you may leave your pet with us for the day to be seen by the veterinarian when they are next available. The doctors will then examine your pet and a treatment plan, specific to your pet, is created. You will then be contacted by either the veterinarian or one of their health care team members to explain the next plan of action and to arrange a discharge time. This service is provided to give owners peace of mind that their pet is getting the best care possible. True emergencies will always be treated as a priority.

Leashes & Carriers

For the security and ease of both our clients and patients we ask that all dogs be on a leash and cats be in carriers while in the reception area. If these are not available to you then we would be happy to provide them to you.

Release of Patients

To ensure the best care is given, and the proper "at home" instructions are understood, pets are only discharged during office hours.

Phone and E-Mail Advice

Regrettably we are unable to diagnose over the phone or by email. In order for us to give suitable advice for the treatment and care of your pet, a proper diagnosis with your pet is needed. One of our veterinarians must perform an examination of the patient to approximately determine the health care needs of your pet.

Fees

Payment is required at the time of service. Our fees are based on the guidelines established by the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and are determined by procedures, equipment used, hospitalization and types of medication administered.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Cash and Debit. Regrettably we do not accept cheques.

CareCredit

CareCredit is an alternative means of financing through an external company (GE) which offers pet owners a payment program very similar to a credit card allowing treatment to begin immediately. CareCredit covers veterinary services (not products) from $300 - $25,000 and offers a no interest payment plan which is spread over a 3 month period assisting pet owners to spread the payment over 90 days rather than having to absorb the full cost in one lump sum. Applications for CareCredit are processed here at the hospital during week days only (Monday - Friday) and acceptance is determined within 10 to 15 minutes of application. If you would like more information on this please call the hospital and talk to one of our client services staff.
