Aries

Dogs: As the first sign of the zodiac it is only natural that Aries pets want to be the leader of the pack. Take your dog into the countryside and they'll soon be picking up a scent or act like a trailblazer.Gun dogs, whippets, lurchers and hunting dogs thrive under the sign of Aries.Most Aries dogs cannot bear to be tied down and must frantically explore every nook and cranny in their environment.They want to make their mark upon the world and they may try to dominate every pet and person in the household however they have a fierce and unquestioning loyalty.

Cats: Aries cats are loners and sometimes you'll hardly see them for days as they would have been eating at every house in your street except yours.Like their canine counterparts they may try to dominate other pets in the household.Keep the gold fish and budgie under lock and key or there could be trouble.At night you'll hear your Aries cat hissing at other cats that have strayed into their territory.They've probably sustained a few battle scars and may have a piece or two missing from an ear.Aries cats are certainly not dull. You'll love their exuberance and character.

Taurus

Dogs: The Taurean dog is loyal, faithful and easy to train.They make the perfect guide dogs and are great with children.They are big softies and everyone adores their kind nature.They are strong when young but can be prone to gaining weight with age.It is rare to find an older Taurean dog that's not "chubby". Their first love is food but a close second is music.If you want to keep your Taurean dog happy, play them some Beethoven - they'll sit and listen for hours and may even howl along.They are delightfully cuddly and playful and their antics will have you in stitches.

Cats: Many Taurean cats have big beautiful eyes - a gift from their ruling planet Venus.When young they could easily win at cat shows.One word of caution … if you feed a special treat such as fresh fish to a Taurean cat they might refuse to eat anything else.The Venus ruled Taurean feline takes a sensuous delight in luxury and will be forever on your lap wanting lots ofpampering.They do not roam far from home. They are very much the homebody and are less inclined to travel – they like luxury too much to roam. They prefer to sit on the porch and watch other animals and birds entertain them.

Gemini

Dogs: Gemini dogs have lots of energy, and they are always alert.They can be very inquisitive, they must see and know everything.Bring a package into the house and they must inspect it thoroughly.They can get easily sidetracked when trying to train so it may require some patience, however it is worthwhile as they are so much fun with their lively ways.They are very persuasive and can charm you into doing things their way.They love people - the more in the household the happier they are.Having lots of company will delight them.Try to make sure they get plenty of rest - they have a tendency to keep moving and playing, they love all kinds of toys and will play with anything.

Cats: It's not often that cats obey a human command but Gemini cats are the exception.Being the most communicative sign of the zodiac they seem to understand what we are saying. They may meow back as if to answer us. They are extremely bright and will soon learn to open the cat flap for themselves.They are real charmers and capable of winning over the most avid cat-hater. Their fun-loving nature and bubbly personality makes for a thoroughly entertaining pet.The ancient astrologers made Gemini the ruler of sparrows so don't be surprised if your Gemini cat drops the occasional dead "offering" at your feet.

Cancer

Dogs: Cancerian dogs are the most sensitive of all the zodiac signs and as suchthey are very attached and attentive to their owner and they need to know that you need them so be sure to give them lots of love and reassurance. They will do everything in their power to protect your house from uninvited guests and want nothing more than to make you happy.They are good with children and think that they are one of them. Your dog should have been born with flippers not paws for the Cancerian dog will jump into water at every opportunity.

Cats: With the moon as the ruler of Cancer it is not surprising that cats born under this sign are true to their nocturnal nature. You could have trouble rousing them during the day but at night they're extremely active.And they love the sound of their own voice.If you hear a tom cat wailing in the early hours it's most probably a Cancerian.Fortunately, they're not prone to fighting and will timidly back off.You'll just love your Cancerian cat as they'll melt your heart with their constant need for affection.

Leo

Dogs: Leos are the king of the dogs, standing tall - the Leo dog is confident, fearless and proud. They tend to make excellent police dogs. Dogs praised for their bravery or pampered by royalty are more often than not born under the sign of Leo. Your Leo dog doesn’t like to be ignored as they love to be the centre of attention. Leo dogs are fiercely loyal and would rather die protecting you than allow you to come to any harm. They make excellent guard dogs however they may be scared of cats.

Cats: Cats born under their natural feline sign of Leo are the most fortunate of creatures. They will experience good health and be extremely lucky - nine lives are just the start. They may be born into affluent homes. Most Leo cats will have long hair but the naturally long haired varieties, such as Persians, will be exceptionally beautiful and maybe even show cats. They are extrovert and gregarious yet your Leo cat is not arrogant: they are loyal, steadfast and true.

Virgo

Dogs: Virgo dog’s are intelligent and often very easy to train, needing little or no discipline. They are also well balanced and dependable. They tend to like their routines, so don’t be surprised if they want their food and walks around the same time each day. In general, Virgo dogs are very healthy and they really enjoy being groomed as they like to look their best – it’s not often they will get dirty as they like to be clean. It can sometimes be easy to forget they are around as they will not demand attention but they really do love being fussed over.

Cats: A Virgo cat is innocent and naïve, trusting and obedient, however, don't be misled into thinking they are easily taken advantage - before you realize it they can have you trained into their way. They also love to wash for hours to look their best! They love to sleep in clean bedding and have clean food dishes. Like their canine counterparts, they enjoy a routine so try to keep feeding times regular and their food dishes in the same place as they are not very keen on change. Virgo cats are smart and learn what you desire with very little effort. Even though they appear calm and cool, they still crave your love and assurance to be happy and contented.

Libra

Dogs: Libran dogs are very peaceful, easygoing and charming to the point of being very persuasive.They make it hard for you to say no when those big brown eyes of theirs plead for food at the table.They really enjoy the companionship of humans and they also love the company of other dogs.These sociable pets will give a warm welcome to any visitors to your home.They can sometimes be a little stubborn, so if they don't want to go for a walk you could find yourself staying at home.

Cats: Libran cats are also peaceful, easygoing and charming, however they can be indecisive – they won't know whether they want to come in or go out.They will move from your lap to the radiator, to the sofa, trying to find the most comfortable spot. They thrive in a stable and serene environment and like everything to be in its proper place, such as food & water dishes and bedding as this helps keep their scales balanced. They are also very loving and sensitive to your moods. If you are sick or upset you can see them asking in their eyes, "what can I do to help?".

Scorpio

Dogs: A Scorpio dog is capable of utmost loyalty, preferring to put himself into harm's way rather than see his owner get hurt.He loves seeing his owner in good health and in happy spirits. Capricorn

Aquarius

Dogs: Aquarian dogs are known for their sense of humor and ability to perform.They'll enjoy being on TV, in commercials and movies.They are the canine equivalent to thecircus clown.They are very interested in you and the things around them - they will concentrate when you talk to them, tilting their heads to one side and listening intently.It may take a little time to gain their trust but, once done, they will trust you with it for life.They can be a little unpredictable - calm and docile one minute then shocking you with wild funny antics the next.There won't ever be a dull moment with an Aquarian dog.

Cats: Aquarian cats can be a bit of a daydreamer, and one problem they may have is moving around while day dreaming.This can sometimes have hilarious results like walking on the window ledge and stepping off the end and landing on the couch.They are very loving and have no interest in fighting or hunting. Pisces

Dogs: Piscean dogs are warm, friendly and very adaptable.They are so gentle and docile that they seem almost too good to be true.They will adopt another puppy, and even a kitten, and take care of it like they were it's own mother.However, trying to get them into a routine can sometimes be a bit challenging – they will eat and sleep when they are ready, all other times are for playing and exploring.Be patient throughout the learning process as they are really eager to please.Remember to reward them and give them lots of praise when they do good as this will encourage them to learn quickly.

Cats: Piscean cats can have an air of mystery about them and this is due to the fact that they like to daydream.They would love to live by the sea, sitting for hours watching the waves rolling in, the birds flying above and dreaming of the fish swimming beneath the sea.Because they are so quiet and undemanding it is easy to overlook them so be very sure you give them lots of love and attention and you will get the same back in return.Piscean cats are very agile, they can walk around your valuables without knocking them down as they walk with such grace and ease.
